Detail Itinerary
Day 1-2: Kathmandu to Lukla and Trek to Paiya
The journey begins with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, where the trek commences. The trail leads through picturesque Sherpa villages, and after a few hours, you’ll reach Paiya, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
Day 3-5: Paiya to Pangkongma
As you ascend, the landscape transitions from dense forests to alpine meadows. The trail offers glimpses of Mera Peak in the distance. Pangkongma, a charming village, is your next stop, where you’ll experience the unique culture and warmth of the local people.
Day 6-8: Pangkongma to Ningsow
The trek continues through dense rhododendron forests and charming hamlets. Ningsow, a beautiful village with traditional houses, provides a glimpse into the local way of life. The trekking route offers breathtaking views of Mera Peak and surrounding peaks.
Day 9-11: Ningsow to Mera Base Camp
As you approach Mera Peak, the landscape becomes more rugged. The trek takes you to Mera Base Camp, located at an altitude of around 5,300 meters (17,388 feet). This is a crucial acclimatization point before attempting the summit.
Day 12-14: Summit Day and Descent
The summit day is a challenging yet exhilarating experience. The panoramic views from the top include some of the world’s highest peaks, such as Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, and Makalu.
